It's been one of those weeks where i'm reminded what living in London is like. An hour on the tube is enough to make anyone see stars. This week sees a taster into what is arguably one of the industries leading manufacturers of camera trackers. The Mosys startracker pictures might have now been superseeded by a smaller and more compact device, but it doesn't detract away from how accurate this device is!
The device is deviced into two elements, a camera which sees in black and white, and a linux box that takes that image and tries to make sense of it. The premise is simple, place enough of those reflective sticky things around on the floor or the ceiling, and then teach the linux box to recognise the patterns. This is one of those times when random scatter is important. The process of triangulation is quite intense but the results are worth it.
